A beautiful pair of Etruscan earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Made of vibrant 15kt yellow gold (indicating English origin), the earrings have an unusual 3-dimensional design complete with fine Etruscan wirework and beadwork. Each earring is formed by two open cups, which have a scalloped edge and are set back-to-back. Hugging the middle of the design is a strand of thin twisted gold rope that wraps around twice and a single Etruscan bead rests in the center of each open cup with a third bead dangling from below. The earrings hang from simple clasped earring wires and rest just below the ear when worn. Delicate and beautiful, they display wonderful artistry and would make a one-of-a-kind addition to any collection!
Measurements: The earrings hang 7/8" long, are 1/2" wide and 3/8" thick.
Conditions: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold or to the Etruscan wirework. The clasped wires are intact and in good working condition.
